Intrusion Detection

An Intrusion detection system is a software program that detects and responds to unusual network activity. It detects and picks up anything outside of the normal before it is passed through the system. An Intrusion prevention system is a software program that prevents the program from anything outside the normal

What it does?

These programs help keep intruders out while providing secure access to customers. Because of it efficient way of preventing and detecting information, this programs have become very commonly used by the big organizations and co-operations.

How it works?

These programs help shield information from vulnerabilities of viruses and hackers. It also isolates malicious content from content that is acceptable to the users/ customers. It also protects private information from being accessed into from other people. It also creates a log file of everything that occurs in the system.

Benefits.

These programs help ProTect against known and unknown viruses that may come into the system. It also stops intruders they may have tried to breach through your firewall to try and access information. Last but not least it responds to abnormal network activity by rejecting access or shutting down the computer.

What would happen if you don’t perform IDS/IPS detection?

If this detection doesn’t take place it would be very difficult to detect and respond to problems or intrusion to the system. The system would also be exposed and people would try and hack in and get information that is private. Because of this, the system would also be prone to viruses and there will be nothing stopping or preventing them to come in.
